Brand Name and Variants

LLMs sometimes write a brand's name differently from the name saved in Traqer. Add the other names and domains as variants so those mentions and citations are counted.

LLMs sometimes write a brand's name differently from the name saved in Traqer. For example, a client is saved as "Northfield Landscapes", but ChatGPT recommends them as "Northfield Landscaping". Traqer reads these as two different brands, so the mention is not counted for the client.

To fix this, add the other name as a variant.

Add a variant

Go to Brand and click the Edit icon next to the brand name in the Brand Snapshot.

Click Add Variant next to Brand Name, enter the name exactly as the LLM writes it, and click Update.

Traqer applies the variant to the results it has already collected, so you do not need to wait for the next run to see the mention counted.

You can add domain variants in the same way, next to Brand's Domain/URL. Use this when a brand publishes on more than one domain, for example a separate blog domain or a country-specific domain.

Only add names that clearly refer to this brand. If another company also uses the name, its mentions will be counted for your brand.
